Parents Experience Anxiety and Depression at Similar Rates as Teens

When we talk about teenagers, we often make the mistake of separating them from their communities and only focusing on them individually. But to truly understand what’s happening with teens, we need to take a step back and look at their families too. Recent surveys show that 18 percent of teens experience anxiety, while 20 percent of mothers and 15 percent of fathers do. Meanwhile, 15 percent of teens have reported feeling depressed, with 16 percent of mothers and 10 percent of fathers also experiencing similar feelings.
